Dan Bilzerian's Partnership with GGPoker Ends on International Women's Day

Since Dan Bilzerian was appointed as GGPoker's Brand Ambassador, almost a year and a half ago, many from the online poker community protested the decision, especially female players. That's because Dan Bilzerian, the so-called "King of Instagram", is not only a famous high stakes player but also a very controversial figure. Namely, he has a reputation for being a womanizer that exposes his luxurious lifestyle online.

After a faux pas with former GG Poker Ambassador Vanessa Kade, who ended up leaving GG and joining Americas Cardroom after a discussion on Twitter, and another where a promised heads-up poker game against the winner of his birthday freeroll that never happened, perhaps enough was enough.

GGPoker has been trying to reach female audiences. Last year, on International Women's Day, they promoted a freeroll tournament. They also partnered with FLIP (Fantastic Ladies in Poker). But it has been clear that Dan has been a hindrance to GG's efforts to connect with such audiences.

It is also unclear how much Dan has actually done for GGPoker. They even had emojis with his face, now removed. Perhaps the losses of having him on the team started to outweigh its benefits.

Whatever the reason might have been, no official statement has been released so far. It's understandable, however, given that GGPoker is currently fighting to solidify and maintain its status as the most popular online poker room in the world, after taking down PokerStars from the throne. It is only natural, therefore, that they want to appeal to the largest possible audience.
