GGPoker and WSOP launch new online poker room

The biggest poker network in the world, GGNetwork, is constantly growing into new areas. They recently unveiled a novel advancement in their successful partnership with the WSOP: the opening of a new online poker room in Ontario. Read the full article to know more.

In order to better serve Canadian players, the World Series of Poker (WSOP) and GGPoker Network have announced the opening of WSOP.ca.

The poker site will have a pool of local poker players, in accordance with local regulations, which means that GGPoker will simply supply the platform; players won't have access to its enormous global pool, but only play against other WSOP.ca poker players. However, WSOP in Ontario is off to a strong start with support from the biggest poker room in the world.

GGPoker ambassador and WSOP bracelet winner Daniel Negreanu relished the chance to finally witness the brand launch in Ontario. Even as a child growing up in Toronto, he claimed that he had always wanted to play in the World Series of Poker, a goal he soon attained during the course of his extensive poker career.

Negreanu had to relocate to Las Vegas to continue playing poker and pursuing his dreams, though. Fans in Ontario won't have to do the same, though, as they can now take part in online WSOP competitions from the comfort of their own homes and compete for real WSOP bracelets and rings.

"Canadian poker players have always been a significant portion of the WSOP playing base. We are thrilled to bring the chance for WSOP glory to you. With online bracelets and exclusive qualifiers to the WSOP in Las Vegas, we expect a wave of new WSOP champions from Ontario", said Daniel.

Ty Stewart, executive director of the WSOP, added that he personally treasured the chance to introduce Canadian poker players to WSOP competitions and online play. According to Stewart, players from Ontario (and all of Canada) will have the chance to compete for the chance to enter events taking place in the United States.

Poker players from Ontario who formerly played online at GGPoker can now transfer their accounts to WSOP.ca by signing onto their GGPoker account and following the instructions on the screen. It's an easy process that only just a few minutes. Once finished, any T$, C$, and loyalty points roll over, and account balances are automatically converted to Canadian currency.

Players must be based in Ontario in order to access the new WSOP.ca poker site.
