The Sit N Go games, which are present in most poker rooms, are finally coming to Run It Once, a room that has been launched almost two years ago. The news came through a teaser announcement on Twitter and detailed on a blog post by Run It Once's founder Phil Galfond. But they are trying to do something different.

Run It Once's take on Sit N Go

“Unlike others, you won’t be spinning a wheel at the start of the tournament. Instead, your randomized prize will be placed inside your cube and locked away. To unlock it, you’re going to have to beat your opponents!“, on Phil Galfond's own words. It works like this: the player goes to "SNG Select" lobby and choose either Classic or "CUB3D", which is Run It Once's take on the lottery format of Sit N Go. Then, the player picks a buy-in and has to play a three-handed hyper-turbo (other formats will be added later). If the player wins, they get a prize: for Classic, the prize is selected and fixed from the start. For CUB3D, the prize is random up to 1,500-times the buy-in.

However, even if you lose the games, you still have a chance to win a "glitch" prize around 10% of your buy-in, randomized among the ranks in the tournament (meaning you can win regardless of how well you ranked). "Beyond the fun of winning an unexpected prize, the improvement of an otherwise negative experience (busting out of a tournament), and the added layer of uniqueness for our offering compared to our competitors, we believe the Glitch Prize offers additional ecological benefits" Galfond explained.
