ACR Poker is pushing innovation with its new Skip-It tournament format, an AI-powered MTT designed for players who want the thrill of tournaments without the long grind. By letting artificial intelligence handle the early stages, Skip-It compresses hours of play into just minutes—while still preserving real competition when it matters most.

The defining feature of Skip-It is its two-phase structure. Day 1, known as the Race Phase, is entirely played by AI agents.
Players simply register through the Skip-It tab in the ACR Poker client and choose their buy-in level. Three options are available: low stakes at $1.05 with 1,000 chips, medium stakes at $5.25 with 5,000 chips, and high stakes at $10.50 with 10,000 chips.
Once registered, players select an AI “racer” to represent them. This choice is purely cosmetic, as all AI agents operate at the same skill level. Players can also enter multiple flights—up to five—by paying separate buy-ins for each.
Each flight lasts around five minutes, and the top 20% of players advance into the money. If a player enters multiple flights, their chip stacks are combined, increasing their position heading into the next phase.
At this stage, there is no gameplay involvement. The AI handles everything, effectively allowing players to skip the most time-consuming part of traditional tournaments.
Day 2 shifts back to a standard player-versus-player format. This phase begins on Sunday at 19:00 GMT and plays out like a typical MTT, with real players competing for final payouts.
Importantly, all players who reach Day 2 are already in the money. This removes the pressure of surviving the bubble and focuses the action entirely on climbing payout positions.
If a player is absent or runs out of time during Day 2, an AI agent can step in and play on their behalf. Players can pre-select this option, ensuring they don’t lose their stack due to inactivity.
There is also a direct entry option to the final table for $26.25, starting with a 25 big blind stack, offering a shortcut for those who want immediate high-stakes action.
Skip-It tournaments come with a $10,000 guaranteed prize pool and a minimum payout of $5. The rake is set at 5%, keeping costs relatively low.
Because Day 2 begins in the money, every player who qualifies is guaranteed a return. This structure significantly reduces variance compared to traditional MTTs, where many players bust before reaching payouts.
For players who advance through Day 1, there is also an add-on option before the final stage, allowing them to boost their stack further.
Skip-It is clearly designed for a specific type of player. It appeals to those who enjoy tournament poker but don’t want to commit several hours grinding through early stages.
By removing the need to play large Day 1 fields, the format allows players to jump directly into meaningful action where decisions have a greater impact on payouts.
This makes Skip-It especially attractive for recreational players or those with limited time. Instead of dedicating an entire evening to a single tournament, they can engage in a condensed format with guaranteed action.
Skip-It highlights how online poker continues to evolve. As platforms compete for attention, formats that prioritize speed, accessibility, and engagement are becoming more common.
By combining AI automation with traditional tournament play, ACR Poker is exploring a hybrid model that could appeal to a wider audience beyond hardcore grinders.
Whether this format becomes a long-term staple or remains a niche experiment, it signals a clear shift toward innovation in online poker.
