Since WSOP unused tickets were converted into tournament dollars a few days ago, many poker grinders have now a few thousand T$ and the Spin & Gold games are an excellent way to convert them into cash.
GG Poker Network surprised many people when it was announced that there would be no rake races in September for Spin & Gold players, considering all other rake race options were extended. However, now that the WSOP has already ended in a big fashion being a resounding success, all the unused WSOP tickets were converted into tournament dollars (T$) almost two weeks ago, allowing them to be spent for buy-ins in Sit 'n Go Tournaments, regular MTTs or Spin & Gold SnG tables. Likely that is the reason the races were paused this month: to be resumed after the players spent their accumulated T$ from the tickets, although there is no official confirmation of that from the operator's part.
many monthly promotions
big traffic on all stakes
no HUD
lack of HU
It is likely that many poker grinders have accumulated a few hundreds or even thousands in T$ and the Spin & Gold SnG is a quick way to convert it into cash, with a super turbo blind structure and a fair winning chance. It is estimated that the vast majority of players with remaining T$ converted from the WSOP tickets will be trying to convert it into cash this way, so expect a huge spike in the number of players at the Spin & Gold tables. Since the action will already be very high for this reason, GGPoker probably counted on this and decided to stop the rake races for this month, which might annoy some players and cause some lost value, but it makes sense from a business perspective and GG Poker's point of view. Gold Missions will also continue regardless, along with the updated version of the excellent Fish Buffet rake back program. After players spend most of their converted T$ and the action at the Spin & Gold tables starts to fade a little, it is almost sure that there will be another rake race, most likely to start in October. Rake races are a standard for most providers because the Spin & Go tournaments usually generate the most rake for the poker room.
