High Stakes Poker Breaks Record for Largest Ever Pot

The iconic cash game show, High Stakes Poker, has once again made history. In its fourteenth season, the show witnessed its largest-ever pot, featuring none other than Alan Keating and Peter Wang in a jaw-dropping $1,412,500 hand.

A Record-Breaking Hand

The legendary moment took place on March 31, 2025, during the tenth episode of the season. The stakes were at their peak, with Wang buying in for $660,000 and Keating sitting behind a massive $1.3 million stack.

The hand unfolded dramatically as Keating flopped top set, while Wang found himself with top pair and the nut flush draw. The inevitable clash led to all the chips going in the middle, with the two players agreeing to run the river twice. However, neither river saved Wang, and Keating walked away with the entire $1.41 million pot.

This new record surpasses the previous largest pot in High Stakes Poker history—a $1,227,900 hand between Guy Laliberté and David Benyamine in Season 4. That pot, however, was split due to a deal. The previous biggest outright win was recorded in Season 12, when Santosh Suvarna took home $992,000 against Andrew Robl.

How the Hand Played Out

The action kicked off when Peter Wang, holding Ace-three suited, raised from the big blind to $14,000 after Keating, sitting with pocket Kings, limped in. Keating responded with a 3-bet to $69,000, which Wang called.

The flop came K-J-2, giving Keating top set while Wang had backdoor flush possibilities. Keating bet $70,000, and Wang check-raised to $200,000. Keating called, and the turn brought an Ace, improving Wang’s hand to top pair while keeping his nut flush draw alive.

At this point, Wang moved all in for his remaining $434,000, and Keating quickly called. With over $1.4 million in the middle, they agreed to run it twice. The board bricked out both times, securing the massive pot for Keating and etching his name in High Stakes Poker history.

Alan Keating’s Legacy in High Stakes Poker

Alan Keating is no stranger to massive pots and electrifying action. A regular fixture on Hustler Casino Live, Keating is known for his aggressive style and willingness to play in the biggest games in the world. While his largest-ever hand occurred on Hustler Casino Live (a $2.4 million pot), his latest victory on High Stakes Poker cements his legacy in televised poker history.

Peter Wang, on the other hand, is a newer face in the high-stakes scene, having previously participated in the 2024 Triton Poker Monte Carlo Invitational. With deep pockets and an appetite for action, he may become a regular in these elite games.

Previous High Stakes Poker Records

While High Stakes Poker has seen plenty of massive pots over its fourteen seasons, only a few hands have crossed the million-dollar mark. The most notable ones include:

Season 4: Guy Laliberté vs. David Benyamine ($1,227,900) – The pot was chopped after an agreement between the players.

Season 12: Santosh Suvarna vs. Andrew Robl ($992,000) – The largest single-hand win before Keating’s record-breaking hand.
