Unibet is a well-known brand based in Malta that has been organizing Unibet Open live poker tournaments for many years. In addition to poker, they also offer bookmakers, casino, bingo and scratch cards. They have announced a revamping of their current loyalty program, to be implemented on April 1st. This new system promises to greatly simplify their cashback program and reward players purely for volume (amount of rake generated).

Unibet's New Rakeback and Loyalty program

The current challenge system will be gone. Instead, players will go up in levels and rakeback tiers simply the more rake they pay, making it simpler and rewarding for those that generate a lot of rake. The system will still be based in quarters, reset in January, April, July and October. The maximum rakeback possible will be 51%, but the actual amount will very depending on the country: some such as Belgium and Sweden offer no monetary rewards due to local regulations and others such as Ukraine, Belarus, Russia, Poland are deemed "bad for the ecology" and have lower rewards as well.

“The ambition has been to build a new loyalty system with gamification added to the regular poker game play with measurable and fun progression that unlocks rewards in all markets,” said the operator, “even the ones that don’t allow monetary incentives" and adding that “we feel a strong need for a system that can work for all game types, is mobile friendly and has less complexity to it”.
