As you probably know, the USA is currently the country with most cases and most deaths to Coronavirus, the vaccine is not expected anytime soon, so the tournament that brings millions of people together to casinos in Las Vegas has obviously been delayed.

Yet, news are that is may very well be cancelled. There is no real expectation for the situation to get better anytime soon, and despite Trumps attempts to bring everyone out of their shelters to bring economy back to life, seems like the majority values life over money. Who could have guessed? ¬¬

Fact is, not all is lost. WSOP organized have got together to make some partnerships happen, hoping to attract it’s affectionates to the online gambling world and have them compete in their World Series of Poker Online.

The event is happening right now on the Poker Room GG Poker, a well-known and respected online poker room that has even managed to steal Daniel Negreanu from PokerStars to be their ambassador.

In the old continent, we have no news yet. The WSOP Europe has yet to be delayed or receive any updates. So far, it still scheduled to happen fall of 2020, but every is expecting it to change soon… COVID and all.

While most of us would love to go out and play with our friends (and make some cash in our way out), all we can hope for this year is that WSOP will take place late this year, but it still seems unlikely.

The reason is, while some countries show great signs of improvement, like Australia and New Zealand, their reality is hardly similar to the one in the United States as their border were closed early on and their prime minister wasn’t in denial for months.

Even if the situation in the US improves, opening borders at this point seems rather unlikely for any country, so we could have the first WSOP with American players ever if they decide to host it this year.

All of this is just speculation, of course, but their organizer seems rather stiff of hosting the tournament this year, so we may see something unusual out of them.

For now, stay safe and play online.
