Winamax May Come to Portugal Soon

The biggest French online poker room, Winamax, has recently launched a webpage with a Portugal domain and a message "coming soon". The page is now offline as preparations are still being made. Winamax Portugual could launch anytime, most likely this year, shaking up the Iberian online poker market and giving Portuguese players a much-needed alternative poker room. French Poker Room Winamax prepares to launch in Portugal

A Portuguese page of Winamax was recently online and indicated that the opening to Portuguese players is coming soon. One of the features of Winamax is that besides online poker it also offers sports betting.

The timing for this announcement could not be more appropriate given the resounding victory of his Portuguese-sponsored, João “Naza114” Vieira, at the Paris Las Vegas tables at the 2022 World Series of Poker.

At this moment the operator still does not appear in the list of Entities Licensed by the Services of Regulation and Inspection of Gaming of Turismo de Portugal but that is a matter of time. How long exactly, no one knows, but predictions put the launching of Winamax Portugal at some time still in 2022.

Despite a brief website change that suggested progress was being made behind the scenes, Winamax has now confirmed that its efforts to provide online poker in Portugal are still in progress.

A new "coming soon" sign was displayed on the Winamax.PT website after an update in July. However, this webpage was for some reason quickly removed. Perhaps it was not meant to be seen by players just yet.

Winamax informs that the plans to bring the online poker room to Portugal are still active and the day it will open is not too far ahead. The website is currently unavailable, for the time being, but we will inform you as soon as more information comes out - or, hopefully, the site itself goes back online.
