What Platinum Community is

Special privileges for regular customers, especially those who rake a lot on the site, are nothing new in the online poker world. It is in the best interest of a poker room to maintain a close relationship with their best customers and therefore most rooms have some sort of VIP group. GGPoker now has it, too, with its new Platinum Community.

The fact is that GGPoker has probably the best rewards program in the industry, such as the Fish Buffet and many other promos and rewards every month, so numerous that often players don't know or take advantage of all it has to offer. One disadvantage, however, is that before climbing the ranks of Fish Buffet a little, you are stuck with random rewards. But after you collect a minimum number of FP (Fish Points) in two weeks you can then get a fixed Rakeback and become part of the GGPoker Platinum Community as well.

How to join GGPoker Platinum Community

To qualify for fixed Rakeback and be a member of the GGPoker Platinum Community, you should collect a minimum of 2,250 Fish Points within two weeks (Platinum Fish rank). At this point, you should definitely abandon the random rewards and opt-in for a 20% fixed Rakeback, which can get even better if you rake more. And how much do you have to rake for that 2,250 FP? According to GGPoker, "On average, players will be rewarded 100 Fish Buffet points for every $1 paid in rake and fees. This value may vary based on a variety of factors, such as but not limited to, game type or tournament played, player behavior at tables, and deposit history", it means you must generate at least $22.50 rake in two weeks, perhaps with some slight variations depending on the aforementioned factors. It's not much compared to what other poker rooms require for membership in their VIP groups. In GGPoker's case, even lower-limits players can qualify.

Once you fulfill the requirements (or if you already fulfill them), you can also become part of the Platinum Community, which is a separate thing but will get you additional privileges. To do so, just write a message to platinum@ggpoker.com including, of course, your GGPoker nickname.
